Everything you need to know about Sentinel AI — from getting started to advanced features.
Sentinel AI is the leading retail sentiment and narrative intelligence platform for public companies and their IR teams, trusted by 200+ public companies representing $300B+ in combined market cap.
Retail investors now account for 36% of all stock market trading activity, and they act on stories before they act on fundamentals. These stories are being formed right now across online news and social media platforms. Sentinel detects the narratives and retail sentiment shifts moving your stock, verifies them against your filings and your announcements, and arms your IR team with the intelligence and draft responses to amplify bullish sentiment and address bearish narratives in real time.
Sentinel runs as a closed loop. It listens across every channel and detects narratives in real time as they form. It verifies each one against primary evidence — your SEC filings, your announcements, and the press wires. Then it auto-generates omni-channel content for your IR team to respond in real time to amplify bullish or address bearish sentiment.
Detection tells you what is being said. Verification tells you whether it is true. Recommendation helps you act. Built by public market operators, for public market operators. Detect. Verify. Act.

Sentinel builds an initial historical view using 30 days of recent activity.
Every piece of content Sentinel collects is analyzed individually to determine:
From there, Sentinel connects individual data points to the broader picture, helping surface emerging conversations, developing narratives, sentiment shifts, and influential voices before they become easy to spot manually.
Sentinel continuously analyzes collected activity for related themes and conversations that can be organized into narratives.
New activity is analyzed regularly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sentinel never sleeps.
New posts will not remain unanalyzed for more than 24 hours, even when activity is lower. This ensures potential narratives can still be identified without waiting indefinitely for additional activity.
Yes. Once monitoring begins, Sentinel continuously collects new activity across supported sources in real time and analyzes that activity as part of its ongoing intelligence.
Yes. Sentinel revisits captured posts after collection to identify updated engagement and whether the content remains available.
Sentinel rechecks captured content after collection. If a previously captured post is deleted or becomes unavailable, Sentinel can identify that change and maintain its status internally but marks the post as deleted.
A narrative is a related theme or conversation identified from the activity Sentinel monitors around your company. Rather than requiring users to review individual posts one at a time, Sentinel organizes related conversation into narratives that can be quickly understood and investigated.
Narratives help you understand what the market is actually talking about. They can surface positive momentum, negative perceptions and topics that continue to resurface.
A Bullish narrative reflects generally positive or optimistic conversation about the company.
A Bearish narrative reflects generally negative, concerned or pessimistic conversation about the company.
Sentinel identifies related posts and sources discussing the same topic. When three or more related posts or sources converge around a topic, Sentinel groups them into a narrative and classifies the overall conversation as bullish or bearish.
The collective message of that group determines whether the narrative is bullish or bearish. Each underlying post is also analyzed individually and may have a bullish, bearish, or neutral sentiment.
For example, a bullish narrative about a stock reaching a 52-week high could include:
The narrative remains bullish because that is the overall direction of the grouped conversation. The individual post labels show how different people are reacting within that broader narrative.
Until three or more related posts or sources are identified, relevant activity may appear under Emerging Narratives. Once that threshold is reached, the emerging activity becomes a bullish or bearish narrative based on the collective direction of the conversation.
New means Sentinel has identified a newly emerging conversation.
Existing means a previously identified narrative continues to appear or has resurfaced.
Because it means the conversation hasn't gone away.
A recurring Bullish narrative may represent positive momentum worth reinforcing. A recurring Bearish narrative may indicate that an issue or perception continues to exist in the market.
No. New Narrative alerts are generated when a New narrative is identified. Existing narratives do not repeatedly generate New Narrative alerts when they resurface.
Yes. Open the narrative to review supporting posts, articles and sources contributing to it.
Sentinel categorizes narratives based on the subject of the conversation. Examples may include Products & Innovation, Management Strategy, Demand & Adoption, Capital Markets & Stock Price and other relevant themes.
The narrative moves to Previous Narratives. If you want to return it to your active view, select Restore.
Amplify helps turn a positive narrative into potential communications your team can review. Sentinel can generate draft content such as press releases, company posts, executive posts and longer-form content.
Start by reviewing the narrative and its underlying sources. Not every negative conversation requires a response. Sentinel provides the context your team needs to determine whether the conversation deserves attention or action.
No. Generated content is provided as a draft for review. Your team remains responsible for editing, approval and publication through your normal communications process.
Sentiment shows whether conversation surrounding your company is generally Bullish, Bearish, Neutral or Mixed. It also allows you to see whether sentiment is changing over time.
Sentiment can be viewed across monitored sources including X, Reddit, YouTube, News and Financial sources.
Yes. Open Sentiment to see how conversation differs across individual sources.
This allows you to compare sentiment trends with price movement during the same period and provides additional context for understanding market activity.
Supporters and Critics are Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) whose posts contribute to the conversation around your company.
Supporters are KOLs whose commentary is predominantly positive, while Critics are KOLs whose commentary is predominantly negative.
Sentinel also tracks KOLs with neutral or mixed sentiment. These accounts may appear within your Key Opinion Leaders, but they are not classified as a Supporter or Critic unless their commentary demonstrates a clear positive or negative direction.
Yes. Select the underlying post to review the original source.
Yes, where responding is supported. Select Respond to generate a suggested response that your team can review before deciding whether to engage.
Yes. Select “Export” next to the KOL to generate and email a KOL PDF containing the relevant intelligence.
Source Intelligence is the underlying content associated with Sentinel's analysis. It allows you to review individual posts and content tied to your company across monitored sources.
Available filters include X, Reddit, YouTube, News and Financial sources.
Yes. Available sentiment filters include Bullish, Bearish, Neutral and Mixed.
Yes. Available time filters include 24 hours, 7 days, last month and all available data.
Yes. Source Intelligence can be exported for additional analysis, reporting or internal use.
Yes, where responding is supported.
Messaging Impact measures how closely the narratives surrounding your company align with the key messages your organization wants the market to understand.
Your initial key messages are established during onboarding.
Yes. Select “Messaging Impact” from your dashboard, then open Your Key Messages to review or edit the three messages Sentinel uses to analyze retail narratives about your company. Click the pencil icon next to any message to make changes, then select Update Key Messages to save.
You can also add Alert Triggers for specific talking points you want Sentinel to watch for, so you're notified when a narrative references them.
Your company's priorities evolve. Updating key messages after leadership changes, product launches, strategic changes, earnings or other important events helps Sentinel evaluate the conversation against what matters to the company now.
Yes. You can create Alert Triggers for the topics that matter most to your organization, such as an executive, product launch, clinical milestone, strategic initiative, or other key talking point.
For example, you might set an alert for “New Product XYZ” or “New CEO” to be notified when a narrative references that topic.
Sentinel evaluates incoming activity against your configured triggers, giving your team added visibility when important topics begin appearing in the conversation around your company.
Sentinel can provide alerts for activity including New narratives, relevant new posts, meaningful sentiment changes and configured custom topics.
A Post Alert takes you to the underlying post so you can review the original content.
A Narrative Alert takes you into Sentinel so you can review the complete narrative, its sources and available actions.
When a user edits a post on X, X creates a new URL for the edited version.
Sentinel may therefore capture both the original and edited version as separate posts, resulting in two alerts. Keeping both provides visibility into what was originally published as well as what was subsequently changed.
No. Once a narrative has been identified, a resurfacing narrative is labeled Existing and does not generate another New Narrative email alert.
Conversation Volume shows the number of valid mentions Sentinel has identified during the monitoring period, after filtering out spam, irrelevant content, and other noise. This gives you a clearer view of the legitimate conversation happening around your stock.
It also shows whether conversation is increasing or decreasing, helping you quickly identify changes in attention and understand when meaningful discussion is gaining traction.
A meaningful change in volume can signal that something deserves a closer look. If activity increases, use Sentinel to investigate the narratives, sources and accounts driving the change.
Competitive Landscape compares your company's conversation with peers established during onboarding.
Competitive Landscape shows how your company's conversation compares with your selected competitors. For each company, you can see its percentage of the shared conversation, total mentions over the last 30 days, and its ranking within the competitive group.
You can also see whether each company is gaining, losing, or maintaining its position based on changes in conversation volume, giving you a clear view of how attention is shifting across your competitive landscape.
Yes. Contact the Sentinel team at support@sentinel.inc to request updates to the companies included in your Competitive Landscape.
Stocktwits Chatter gives you a focused view of retail investor activity on Stocktwits through Sentinel's direct API access to the platform. Stocktwits grants API access to very few providers, making this a uniquely difficult source of retail conversation to monitor at scale.
Sentinel uses this access to gauge conversation volume, sentiment, and momentum, showing whether chatter around your company is leaning Bullish or Bearish and whether activity is normal, increasing, or decreasing.
This gives IR teams visibility into not just what investors are saying, but how much conversation is happening and whether retail attention is accelerating or fading.
Sentinel provides recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that summarize the market intelligence most relevant to your company, including key narratives, sentiment, conversation trends, and other notable activity.
Need a report outside your regular schedule? From Reports, you can generate an on-demand report for any custom timeframe of up to 29 days, giving your team the flexibility to analyze specific periods around earnings, announcements, market events, or whenever deeper insight is needed.
Sentinel reports turn retail sentiment and narrative activity into actionable intelligence for IR teams. Use them to understand what investors are talking about, identify the narratives gaining traction around your stock, and bring that context into leadership and client discussions, IR and communications planning, board preparation, and earnings preparation.
Reports help teams move beyond simply monitoring the conversation to understanding what is driving it, how sentiment is shifting, and where attention may be needed next.
A Narrative PDF provides a shareable snapshot of an important narrative, including the narrative summary, associated intelligence, and three of the top supporting sources driving the conversation.
Simply select Export next to a narrative, and Sentinel will automatically send the PDF to the primary contact email and any CCs associated with your account, making it easy to share timely narrative intelligence with your team.
A KOL PDF provides a shareable snapshot of important Key Opinion Leader activity and intelligence related to your company.
Select “Export” next to the KOL, and Sentinel will automatically send the PDF to the contacts and CCs associated with your account. From there, it can be easily shared with the appropriate IR, communications, leadership, or other internal teams.
